Privacy Policy

  • We are a social network and online platform for people in the coffee world.
  • Our Privacy Policy applies to our registered users (‘Members’) and unregistered viewers (‘Visitors’). We collect information when you use our Services to offer you a personalised and relevant experience, including growing your network and enabling business opportunities and access to knowledge.
  • Our Members share their identities, engage with their network, exchange knowledge and professional insights, post and view relevant content, and find business and career opportunities.
  • Select content on our website is also visible to Visitors.
  • This website Privacy Policy applies to https://beanlinked.com/ and it was last updated on 12 December, 2016.
  • We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to it, we will let you know so you can review the changes before you continue to use our website and membership Service.
  • If you object to any changes, you may close your beanlinked account. Continuing to use our membership Service after we publish or communicate a notice about any changes to this Privacy Policy means that you are consenting to the changes.

Protecting your information

  • When you create an account with us, we collect information (including your name, email address, and password). And we protect your personal information using industry-standard safeguards.

Collecting your information

  • When you purchase one of our memberships, we collect personal information as part of the buying and selling process (like your name, address, email address and payment details).
  • We also collect the internet protocol (IP) address of your computer or the proxy server that you use to access the web, your computer operating system details, your type of web browser, your mobile device (including your mobile device identifier provided by your mobile device operating system), your mobile operating system (if you are accessing beanlinked using a mobile device), and the name of your ISP or your mobile carrier.
  • We may also receive location data passed to us from third-parties. Most mobile devices allow you to prevent real time location data being sent to us, and of course we will honour your settings.
  • With your permission, we may send you emails about our website, new Services, and any other updates.

Sharing your information

  • We may share your information with your consent; as required by law; or if we think it’s necessary to enforce our User Agreement or protect the rights, property, or safety of beanlinked, our Members and Visitors, and the public.
  • We do not rent or sell to Third Parties personal information that you have not posted on our website or Services, except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Registering as a member

  • To create a beanlinked account, you must provide us with your personal information. By registering as a Member, you agree to our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, which governs how we treat your information.
  • You may provide additional information during the registration flow to help build your profile page and to provide you more customised Services. This content is publicly displayed for Members and Visitors to see. So please do not provide personal information you do not want to be public.

Paid members’ data

  • Our website is built on WordPress, using the Stripe payment facility. They provide us with the online platform that allows us to sell our paid memberships.
  • Your data is stored through beanlinked’s data storage and databases. We store your data on a secure server with SSL.

Processing your membership

  • We may process your information outside the country where you live. We may transfer your information and process it outside your country of residence, wherever Beanlinked operates.

Age of consent

  • By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

Obtaining your consent

  • When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
  • If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

Withdrawing your consent

  • If – after you opt-in – you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by contacting us at bill@beanlinked.com or mailing us at 351 Hawkesbury Rd Winmalee, New South Wales 2777.

  • We use cookies and similar technologies to collect information to help us recognise you across different Services; learn about your interests both on and off our website; improve your experience; increase security; measure use and effectiveness of our Services, and serve advertising.
  • You can control cookies through your browser settings and other tools. By visiting our website and Services, you consent to the placement of cookies and beacons in your browser and HTML-based emails in accordance with this Privacy Policy

  • We have put in place security safeguards designed to protect the personal information that you provide in accordance with industry standards. Access to your data on our Services is password-protected, and data, such as credit card information, is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and our website and Services.
  • Although we take privacy and security seriously, the Internet is not a 100% secure environment, so be careful and select strong passwords. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us. There is no guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your login information.
  • Please note that comments, review, private messages, and similar means of communication with other Members are not encrypted, and we strongly advise you not to communicate any confidential information through these means. Please help keep your account safe by using a strong password.

Payment security

  • If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then beanlinked stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
  • All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
  • PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
  • To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
  • If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Your choices and obligations

  • You can change your beanlinked information at any time by editing your profile, deleting content that you have posted, or by closing your account. You can also ask us for additional information we may have about your account.
  • If you close your account(s), your information will generally be removed from the website within 24 hours. We generally delete closed account information and will de-personalise any logs or other backup information through the deletion process within 30 days of account closure.
  • NB: Information you have shared with others, or that others have copied, may also remain visible after you have closed your account or deleted the information from your own profile. Group content (like a review) associated with closed accounts will show an unknown user as the source.
  • In addition, you may not be able to access, correct, or eliminate any information about you that other Members copied or exported out of our Services, because this information may not be in our control. Your public profile may be displayed in search engine results until the search engine refreshes its cache.

Content responsibility

  • You are responsible for any information you post on our website or Services, and this content will be accessible to others.
  • If you share content on your profile, you should be aware that any information you choose to disclose using these Services can be read, collected, and used by other Members and Visitors. We are not responsible for the information you choose to submit. Some content may be public and searchable on the Internet.

Data retention

  • We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed. For example, we may keep certain information even after you close your account if it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce this agreement.
  • We retain the personal information you provide while your account is in existence or as needed to provide you Services. We may retain your personal information even after you have closed your account if retention is reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes between Members, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. We may retain personal information, for a limited period of time, if requested by law enforcement.
  • Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Use.
